Bondi - Watsons Bay, Sunday, May 20, 2012...
A 10km ocean swim from North Bondi Beach heading along the coastline to South Head, then into Sydney Harbour to the finish at Watsons Bay...
This is one of the great ocean swims -- 10km from Bondi to Watsons Bay, almost all of it along shoreline of sheer cliffs. It's one of those swims that requires absolute commitment.
This is some of the most exposed coastline in Australia, beaten by the weather, by the elements, by the ocean and by the tradewinds. There is no shelter from the prevailing conditions on swim day. Swimmers who complete this swim know they have conquered one of the most testing stretches of water on the Australian east coast.

The South Head Roughwater...
- Open to Solo swimmers, Duos, Trios, Quads, Quins and Sextets.
- All swimmers/teams must be accompanied by an escort boat and, if they like, by ski paddlers or kayaks.
- All swimmers must have trained adequately to take part in the South Head Roughwater and must bring with them appropriate provisions to support their swim over this distance in open ocean.
